In this workshop Mathilde will share all of the insights into the audio world of “Unrailed!” How do you work on a game with a co-composer? What do you have to consider when creating an interactive score? How do you prevent the audio mix in a multiplayer game from being too cluttered? What's the purpose of audio middleware in the project? And most importantly: how many Easter Eggs are hidden in the soundtrack? These questions and many more will be answered by Mathilde in this talk. Catch Choo There!

Mathilde Hoffmann is a sound designer and composer from Hamburg, Germany. She loves strolling around the world with a field recorder in her backpack, collecting curious sounds to fill the virtual worlds she works with.

Her musical journey started out with arrangements of her favorite Nintendo soundtracks, the first game music gigs and eventually her studies of "Music Design" at the music academy in Trossingen, where she discovered the art of Sound Design as one of her passions. Since then she's worked on numerous titles from well-known developers in the German indie scene such as Daedalic Entertainment ("Ken Follett's: The Pillars of the Earth", "State of Mind”), Osmotic Studios ("Orwell"), or Sandbox Interactive ("Albion Online").

Her favorite projects are those where sound design and music grow into one, as in the couch co-op indie title "Unrailed" or the music building game "ODDADA".
