Ken Loach

This is the third Camerimage album devoted to a director (after Jerzy Skolimowski and Krzysztof Kieslowski). However, the direct relation to cinematography is maintained as Ken Loach is the recipient of The Special Award for the Duo Director-Cinematographer at Camerimage 2002 (with his "total in-sync collaborator" Barry Ackroyd). The book is a small codex of the artist's ideas, thoughts, his history and his evolution. It depicts what he sees and how he is seen, and despite the fact that every single page is quite static, the whole book can be set in motion and become one more moving image - a story. It is the story of a man boldly expressing his ideals - even in times when people do not want to express them and do not want to have them.
